The New Version
This is the version which sits on the wall I call it "Stormy". The colours are different than I have used in a painting and I think they express the grunge feel I'm looking for.
Bye for now. Nad

This is a piece just finished. This was painted using a subtractive technique. After the paint is applied with either knife or brush, one colour at a time then it is sprayed with a mixture of green cleaner and water and that layer is scraped back showing the previous layer then allowed to dry before the next layer is applied. This technique can be done quickly or slowly.

New abstract painting The Qnadii Studio-artist Nad Ellis. This is a painting more along the line of comtemporary modern rather than the featured grunge style. Because I am an intuitive painter I usually take it where it takes me. This is 18x24" acrylic on paper, mounted to a gallery profile cedar board. Luv those boards.

New painting exercise. I've started to do expressionist painting exercises in the morning like a journal of expression and a warm up. Great way to loosen up. I do them on doubled gessoed cartridge paper 18x24" the paper is surprisingly good for this. The paper takes a lot of moisture and if it rips, painters green tape fixes it and just paint on. I scrape, scrub back and scratch even.

Is a piece of grunge art ever really done?
Decomp 1
18x24" acrylic on canvas
Well this one is almost there but thought I would post my latest grunge work and help to define the types of artwork I think falls into this category. There are many artists who I consider much more experienced at this type of art and I will be featuring some of them here on this blog. All for now.
